Public Safety in the 50th Ward - Aug 21st
a joint town hall w 50th Ward United Working Families
Public safety has always been an important issue in Chicago, and especially here in the 50th Ward. Next Sunday, you will have the opportunity to meet with your neighbors and talk about the safety issues we all face, whether the current solutions are working, and what we can do about it.
The 50th Ward Action Network is excited to partner with 50th Ward United Working Families to host "Public Safety in the 50th Ward" - a community town hall in Warren Park on Sunday, August 21st at 2:00pm. Join us for a discussion on public safety, the new ECPS district councils, and how we can keep our community safe for everyone. We will hear from representatives from ONE People's Campaign, candidates from the 50th Ward, and - most importantly - concerned neighbors like you.
RAIN PLAN: The forecast shows rain on Sunday. We have secured the meeting room in the Northtown Library for our use. We will move the meeting there if it is raining. Please check the park FIRST.
We will gather in the Northwest corner of Warren Park (corner of Western and Pratt). Please bring a chair or blanket. We will have limited chairs for those who need.
Agenda will include:
* ONE People's campaign will lead a discussion about the Empowering Communities for Public Safety ordinance and the new 24th District Council that will be on the February 2023 ballot.
* There will be space for YOU to voice concerns and ideas to improve our ward's safety.
* There will be space made for any candidate to address the community, including any alderman candidates.
If you have any agenda item, please reply to this email or email us at 50thwan@gmail.com.
Please also bring any 50th Ward events to the collective attention of those at the meeting.
